Try Love, Choose Happy

Today I let myself get pulled into a heightened discussion after seeing a response on Facebook I found offensive and ignorant. I should have left it alone, as I usually do, but it gnawed at me.

I try very hard to find something good in everyone and every situation. If you know me well, you know what I believe and how I live my life, and that is really all that matters—that the ones I love know my heart and love and respect me.

With that said, it is often hard to read things on social media and feel that the ones you love, or the way they love are under attack. It’s hard to keep quiet, and we shouldn’t. We should stick up for what we believe and for the injustices we see in the world- but this was not the place/time to do it. Arguing with a single individual about something they have no intention of educating themselves on or changing their feelings about, is pointless and just gives me angry/sad emotions.

I will continue to fight for what I believe and try to respectfully educate those who have a genuine interest in learning about the good in people. Right now I need to rid myself of the negativity, so I am bringing you a little bit of goodness and laughter to bring the sunshine back.
