Improve Your Day With Reading
It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. My debit card was compromised and I spent hours replacing my payment information on all my auto bill pay sites, I had to wear slippers to work because I fractured a toe over the weekend and no shoes will fit comfortably, and we went out to dinner tonight and the food and service were awful.
So tonight, I am channeling one of my favorite children’s books—Judith Viorst’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. You can purchase it from BookPeople of Moscow, my local bookstore, or your very own local independent book seller. You can look for your nearest book seller here at Indie Bound.
Indie Bound is also my go-to place for book recommendations. I think I found at least 40% of all the books I read this year on Indie Bound at one point or another. I’ve also heard a lot of authors on NPR this year who have peaked my interest. I am going to go through their selected reads for 2019 and see how many I can check off my list and how many I want to add to my ‘to be read’ list.
Some of my favorite reads of 2019 (so far) were:
Abbi Waxman’s Other People’s Houses
Jasper Fforde’s Early Riser
Laurie Frankel’s This is How it Always Is
Did you have any favorites this year? Anything you would recommend for someone in the midst of a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day?
