Filling The House With Carbohydrates
I am not hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year. Instead, we have wonderful friends who have invited us to their home. We will bring a few things—sweet potato casserole and rolls—but to not be in charge of hosting and doing a large amount of cooking is a huge relief. Since we are forgoing the usual Piemageddon baking spree of November, I’ve decided to go all out on the holiday cookies and treats in December. The plan is to make enough to share with family and friends.
Here a few of the treats I have planned this year:
I’m sure we will make a gingerbread house at some point. If so, my husband will likely be the project manager, as it drives him nuts to see the sides come together with giant gaps and “glued” in fractious pieces with icing. My creations look more like patchwork than the measure twice, cut once, designs he can create.
What are your holiday plans?
