Wednesday Roundup- 4.13.16

It's been a pretty exciting week so far. I've started a new project, Project Homonymous. You can read updates here. I've also gotten through half my week without wanting to throw more than a pencil across the room. That is progress. Without further ado, here are some things to waste some time as you wait for Friday to walk into your life.

Have you ever had to get rid of books? Remember that feeling in the pit of your stomach as you agonized over what to give away and what to keep? You don't? Me either—probably because I never get rid of books. Read what Jamie Herndon, over at Book Riot, has to say about trying to get rid of books.

If you like to read but you don't have a lot of time, you can drop on by Microfiction Monday Magazine and read some stories that are 100 words or less.

Speaking of good storytellers, author Beverly Cleary turned 100 yesterday. My favorite Beverly Cleary book is probably Dear Mr. Henshaw, but I love them all.

If you are looking to supplement your decor of bookshelves, you can't go wrong with these beautiful maps by Kirsten Sparenborg. She sells them on her Etsy shop Turn of the Centuries.

You can take a break from all the reading and decorating to make some creme brûlée—my favorite dessert in all the world. Snixy Kitchen has a great recipe with an accompanying video.

Why not take your dessert out on the deck and eat it while gazing at all of your garden gnomes. What? You don't have any? Apparently, sales are on the decline. You better rush out and buy some now. We wouldn't want people to stop making them.

I will leave you with this short video of my adorable dog playing fetch. #RalphtheMouth
