Uroboric

uroboric

Adjective

(comparative more uroboric, superlative most uroboric)

  1. cyclical

  2. self-devouring

Origin

From uroboros / ouroboros - the ancient symbol depicting a serpent swallowing its own tail and forming a circle.

I have seen this symbol many times, but didn’t know that it had a descriptive word (uroboric). The symbol, a ouroboros, was first found in the 14th Century in King Tutankhamen’s tomb. It is often referenced in literature and music, and is the title of a 2012 album by the band Ruby the Hatchet.
